I’m 55M and our family “nice” car is for my wife of course.

I need a car of my own and want to buy something older but not too high mileage and reliable to go 200k if maintained.

Sporty is not important but I’d like a little “luxury”. Comfort for long drives and quiet for example. Nice interior. Low insurance costs if possible. I want maintenance costs to be reasonable and comparatively easy to perform myself as much as possible.

I’m assuming this rules out the BMW/Audi/European in general?

Perhaps steering me toward Lexus and competitors?

Any wildcards out there I’m missing? Volvos? Lincolns? Other American land boats?

If the budget is 25k ish what is the sweet spot I should be looking for in make/model/year/mileage?
