My 2016 Lexus NX200T makes a drone sound starting around 40 mph. I can’t tell where it’s coming from. Suspension? Drivetrain? It doesn’t do it every single time, only sometimes. However, the days when it does do it, I can get it to happen every time I accelerate to 40 mph. I have taken it to the dealership and Firestone, and both told me they couldn’t replicate it and had no idea what it is.
In the video (link here), you can barely hear the drone start around 41/42 mph. It’s pretty loud though. It continues while I hang around that speed. I then speed up, and the sound stops around 50 mph. I let off the accelerator and slow down (no brakes; just letting the car coast), and the sound starts again at 45 mph. The sound then stops at around 35 mph.
I don’t feel any vibrations anywhere, either.
Let me know what other info is needed to diagnose this. It’s driving me crazy. Thanks!
