I’ve been looking around some local (european) used car websites for a V8 for the past year. I have a feeling that 70% of mustangs that get imported here from the US are crashed, some of them seem worse than others. Honestly I have little information on how US insurance companies determine that a car is a write-off (salvage title? sorry for my english).

Here is one specific example, being sold for 33.600 USD including taxes, equivalent in local currency. Terrible idea to buy something like this? I have a feeling I could never trust such a car for longer trips or at high(er) speed on the highways…

What I do is I put the VIN (if specified, which it often is) into google and usually I end up on bidfax or similar website and I can see that the crashed vehicle has been shipped to europe (rotterdam or other port), then probably repaired and sold here. Never have I seen any snippet of information that the car has been in a crash as part of the final listing, which I find misleading…
