Hi guys I have a problem with the Gallery App (Version 3.5.7.24-global in case it might help) on my Redmi Note 8 Pro (Xiaomi):

basically the app received an update recently becoming directly connected with Google Photos, the problem is that before I could just go to the Google Photos app and select the folders on the device for which to make a backup and once done I could even delete individual photos from the phone nothing happened and they remained stored in Google Photos, instead now if I delete a photo or folder from the phone, the app being directly connected with Google Photos causes the latter to delete them there as well (thus making the online backup function useless).

On top of that, always in the Gallery App, a new folder called “Restored” also popped up that contains all the images from Google Photos, only I preferred not to have it because it’s extra (and I can’t hide it either).

I tried going into the gallery settings and disabling the link but it’s useless, it asks me to disable Google Photos backup eliminating the root problem, which is something I obviously don’t want to do.

How can I solve this situation? Thank you all.
