Hi,

After a (semi-)successful BIOS upgrade to the latest version I’m having some issues with CPU ratio settings.

Story started as me updating the BIOS without saving the settings, but later found the profile on a pendrive and loaded the settings which was partially successful.

CPU offset values and DRAM timings are there, but the CPU ratio was “Auto” in the file even though I’m 100% sure it was manually set to “43.00” and was running stable on that (so probably the profile-save was not the final version).

The setup is ASUS B450F-Gaming MOBO and Ryzen 7 3700X. BIOS version is 5404.

RAM: HyperX Predator Memory Black - 16GB Kit*(2x8GB) - DDR4 3200MT/s XMP CL16 DIMM

(I tried CPU Core Ratio and CCX0+CCX1 set in separate runs to “43.00”, but PC was not posting so had to revert back to “Auto”. I was thinking on reducing the offset, maybe the Voltage is too low, but it was all set up by a friend so I’m not sure, also there might be additional settings I need to turn off, but not sure on those.).

I’m open to leaving it as is if you say that’s the best or revert everything back to auto. (However temps were way lower with the fine tuning, like 10-15C lower both under load and idle.)

Undervolting was ‘necessary’ as my core voltage was fluctuating round 1,50 - 1,57 and was told that’s not good.

I was trying to search after the topic, but only found 5 year old posts (some say do this, some say leave everything on auto as that’s better.)

Plus this article, which seems relly relevant o my case, but got lost in it after a few paragraphs, and not sure which parts to use for full manual OC (which I indend to learn for this current setup, at least why is it good or not good in a certain way.
