Newb, here. Macbook pro. I have been trying to read forums and also using chatgpt, but I’ve run into a wall and keep getting error messages in Terminal.

Downloaded GnuPG via Homebrew. New to Homebrew as well and new to using terminal. I downloaded the MullvadVPN package, I have the public key .asc file downloaded and imported, and I also have the signature file for the vpn app downloaded in “plain text” as ChatGPT instructed (I’m sure trusting ChatGPT is something I should be skeptical of, but I am trying to learn on my own and haven’t found many references for my particular issue to learn from).

My problem is the .asc file (public key?) is imported, but when I go to import the signature file for the vpn app and save it in my Downloads where the .pkg file is, I still can’t import it and it produces no result. Last night I tried following some of the instructions and used a wget command, idk if that has something to do with making an issue or not? Today I cleared my keys, cleared my downloads in Finder, and re-downloaded everything and tried again to no avail. As of right now I have the .pkg file, the .asc file (imported) and tried to save the signature via textedit (I also saved that as a .asc file).

I’m sorry about being such a newb. I know it is healthy to verify signatures and I really want to learn how, but I’ve been at this for a number of hours now and figured I’d reach out. I feel dum

**Problem solved**
