Edit: Thanks all for your help! For now I think I’ll just stick with 500Mb plan and use a single gigabit switch for my 5 devices. I’ll be running 1 Cat6 cable from modem to switch and another spare cable backup.

Devices running at the same time would probably be: * 2x PoE cameras * 2x streaming devices like Nvidia Shield (4k remux streams) * 1x gaming PC

I don’t know if there’s any difference in using:

  1. Using two gigabit switches in 2 of the 4 LAN ports on the modem
  2. Using one 10Gb switch connected to the 10Gb ETH port on the modem.

In case 1, I’ll be limited to 333-500 Mbps per device. In case 2, I’ll be limited to 600 Mbps per device.

The reason I didn’t mention using a single gigabit switch is because then I would be limited to 200 Mbps each for 5 devices right?
