I noticed this as I was staring at our living room today. Houses built today are almost always open concept with larger square footages in a more boxy exterior that doesn’t seem all that big. Older homes got the benefit of renovating to open concept as taking down the walls added to the square footage whereas we’ve already lost that extra space in the design of the home.
