I brought a brand new pc with 2 SSDs, one for windows 250GB and one for Games 1TB, I installed my HDD of 1TB to the new PC but every time I copy any file, any installation where files are being worked on, my PC nearly completely freezes, google chrome won’t respond, the copying window won’t even let me cancel, windows explorer will often crash and leave me with a blank screen with the copy loading bar. This happens between the two SSDs too, with nothing to do with the other Drive,

The HDD is not that old, it’s only 4 years old, it used to work perfectly with my old PC, but now whenever I play a game on my SSD especially demanding ones (I have a 4060 Ti RTX 8GB) If ever alt tab hell breaks loose, I can’t go back to the game and I have to exit and relaunch, explorer crashes, chrome closes, etc…Which is weird because I can run most games on ultra without any problems, just alt tabbing breaks everything. Booting time is also long just to add to this.

Is it because my HDD is not compatible with the motherboard port ?

Is it maybe the interaction between them that uses the HDD for some tmp files or shader compiling when gaming ?

Or is it maybe malware and a complete format could make a difference ?

If someone could help me make sense of what is going on I would really appreciate it.
