long story short, last night i downloaded a dodgy cracked game and then my laptop (asus g16 zephyrus) started slowing down, ran scans through hitmanpro, emergency kit, and malwarebytes and turned up all good. this is where i got a bit spooked, as after a lengthy windows update bitlocker suddenly popped up and asked for a key (i have the key but i never enabled bitlocker) before i could finish typing the code it went away and booted up normally (was running way hotter though) this was weird!! i have files i want to keep on my pc so i backed the important stuff (mp4s and mp3s) to a hard drive and then did a factory reset just to be safe. after factory reset my laptop kept sitting at about 85°c on idle (its usually 55-60) so im fairly sure whatever was going on hasnt left, scanned with the same avs again and turned up nothing but that idle temp is way too high

do i just fully format everything and boot off a usb? im a bit lost and a tad bit paranoid

EDIT: cpu usage is only at 15% and memory is at 32% with nothing open so maybe im just overreacting
