I just bought everything I need for my new build: 64GB 6000 CL30 RAM, 9800X3D, Corsair 1000W PSU, and an Asus X870-F motherboard. Now comes the dilemma—which GPU should I get?

Should I buy a 7900 XTX now, or wait for the 5080/5090? The 5090 wasn’t originally in my budget, but by the time the market stabilizes and the cable melting ““issue”” is resolved, I’d have enough saved up for it.

The 7900 XTX doesn’t really excite me, not because of raw performance but because it’s getting old, lacks FSR 4 support (for now) and has mid/mediocre ray tracing. Plus, some newer games are starting to use ray tracing directly in their engines, without an option to disable it, which can hurt performance on AMD cards.

For now, I’m gaming at 1440p, but I might move to 4K in the future. Currently using a RX 6800 (non-XT).

What would you do in my situation?
