I’ve been trying to stream movies to my Apple TV, but both Infuse and VLC aren’t working for me. I’ve tried MP4 files, but I either get only audio, constant buffering, or no playback at all.

I’m using AirPlay from my Mac, and my sound is coming from two HomePods (stereo pair). The only way I can watch movies is by sending them to my iPhone’s Files app and mirroring from there or adding them to my Mac’s Apple TV app and playing through the “Computers” section on Apple TV.

Why isn’t direct streaming working? Is it an AirPlay limitation or a network problem?

I’m considering buying a Chromecast because I’m getting fed up that I can’t really stream from VLC, as that would be my main focus since it works better with Stremio. Annoyinggg
