I recently purchased a Philips 34E1C5600HE monitor, which functions well overall. The only devices connected to it are a 3.5mm audio jack and a small USB wireless receiver for my mouse and keyboard.

I prefer a wired internet connection over Wi-Fi, so I bought an Ethernet-to-USB adapter because the monitor lacks a Ethernet port. Unfortunately, using the adapter causes some issues: either my mouse and keyboard experience severe lag, or the Ethernet connection fails to work altogether. It seems the monitor cannot handle both inputs simultaneously.

There are still two unused USB ports on the monitor and connecting a USB hub doesn’t resolve the issue. The monitor is connected to my laptop using only the original USB-C to USB-C cable provided in the box.

What could be causing this problem, and is there a way to fix it?
