So here’s the long story. I am terrible at networking, I have no idea what I’m doing. Since moving into our new house about a year ago, we’ve been having Internet trouble that I can only think is someone messing with our router (things like extensive messenger issues across all devices in the house, page and scroll jumping when browsing, wireless lights in the house turning on or televisions changing connection settings while we’re alseep) and even though I’ve changed the passwords multiple times it doesn’t seem to help. Changing the passwords itself is exhaustive with all of our connected devices and lights and I’m at my wit’s end. We’ve started looking at buying an entirely new router to try and increase our security but I thought before I try anything else I should ask the people in the know what I should be doing to protect my home and devices?

tl;dr I am less than amateur when it comes to networking knowledge and I need someone to explain how I can safely set up our network as though I’m an idiot
