This is my PC. I built it in 2022. It’s been serving me well. Yes I can’t play the newest games at the top graphics any more, but it mostly works. Unfortunately GPU died on me suddenly this week - a week before 5000 series gets released and I have a conundrum. Given that it’s near impossible to find a 4090 anywhere close to MSRP, I’m planning to get a 5080 or 5090 next week. I had hoped that when it was time to build a new PC (in 2-3 years), I would move to AMD (assuming they were still making the best chips then).
My question is: should I upgrade my CPU to something like the i9-14900 or will I be okay running my current CPU without too much performance loss?
