Apologies in advance if these are basic questions. With advice from folks around these parts I’m planning to build a TrueNAS myself with custom PC parts, instead of buying Synology etc. However, I have a few questions:

1. If I install qbittorrent on TrueNAS, would the experience be similar to using qbittorrent on a windows11 PC? In TrueNAS it’ll be using a web based qBit interface I guess but would there be anything like slowdown, lag etc. cause all I’d have are large sized BD / UHD discs?
2. How important is it for me to get a static ip? All I want is to be able to control the torrents seeding on it while I’m travelling. I’ve read that there are two ways this can be done: a static ip or a VPN service, but I was wondering that some trackers don’t allow VPN etc. So please advise. How should I go about it?
