I have been having issues with my PC booting properly for… longer than I should have ignored now. From research I think it could have to do with the PSU but I am unsure at this point. Here’s the issue:

  • Whenever I first boot up my PC, it freezes up before it makes it to Windows (so on the screen where it shows my motherboard brand name and has a loading icon). However, if I turn on my pc, shut it off immediately, then turn it on again – it works perfectly! I know that can’t be healthy for it and I want to upgrade some of my parts but I figure my priority should be to fix this first. Any ideas on what would be causing this? I’ll list my specs below.
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H-CF
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 ti
  • PSU: Seasonic Focus GM-550
  • Memory: 16GB (Some sort of Corsair cards, don’t recall specifics)
