The Item 9 opening in Pineapple Express is one of the best comedic movie openings of the 2000s. I’m not a huge Seth Rogan and James Franco buddy film guy but the opening of this movie is forever etched in my mind. Bill Hader deserves all the credit for this, he was the perfect balance of wacky and whimsical that most stones can relate to. We sit around in the basements and back patios of the world smoking and joking, this scene optimized this feeling for me. Just an opinion but I’m willing to hear others thoughts
