Hi everybody. I currently have a desktop PC at home and I use a 14 TB Seagate Expansion as my external HDD. I use it to store my backup and also my Steam games. However, it is running out of space and I am thinking of the alternatives.
One of them would be to buy a larger external drive (20 or 24 TB), but I wonder whether it would eventually run out of space as well.
I thought of a NAS but I am afraid the speed would not be enough to run Steam games on the external drive.
Than I run into some DAS solutions which I found quite nice and reasonably affordable. First, the Yottamaster Y-Focus 5-bay caught my attention. But then I found the Orico 5-bay magnetic HD enclosure, and it seems to be very nice, not only because it is cheaper than the Yottamaster solution, but mainly because it can connect the HDs quickly without the use of any tools (and I am very bad at using them).
So I thought I would buy the Orico enclosure, put one or two HDs inside it, and them buy more as I need them. Any downsides? Any specific type of HD that I should use? Anything that I am not taking into account?
Thanks.
