As we approach the end of the year, I want to reflect on my experience diving into PC gaming—it’s been an exciting, sometimes nerve-wracking adventure!

Big thanks to my bf for pushing me into this and encouraging me to explore so many incredible games. This year, I’ve discovered some fantastic PC games (and one VR game!) that I’d love to share with you all bunch of stranger gamers.

1️⃣ Enshrouded – My first survival game on PC, and I couldn’t stop playing! I got hooked, and I spent hours and hours exploring, crafting, and battling. If you enjoyed Valheim or Grounded, this game is a must-try. It’s beautiful, immersive, and perfect for survival fans.

2️⃣ Dungeonborne – This was my intro to extractor games, and it was thrilling at first! I also tried Dark and Darker, but Dungeonborne felt smoother. Sadly, OP classes ruined it, and with the devs abandoning the game, we had to quit. A fun but short-lived experience.

3️⃣ V Rising – A vampire-themed survival game with exciting progression. Each boss fight and quest kept me hooked (stayed in PvE server but still had fun). The combination of survival mechanics and supernatural elements makes this game a standout for fans of the genre.

4️⃣ No Rest for the Wicked – A stunning roguelike still in early access but already one of my favorites. The art style, narrative, and gameplay are top-notch, and I’m eagerly waiting for multiplayer and full release. It’s challenging but rewarding—perfect for roguelike enthusiasts. Highly recommended 10/10.

5️⃣ Return to Moria – A LOTR-themed survival game that’s relaxing and fun, though not as addictive as Enshrouded. It’s a great option for those who enjoy base-building and singing while mining lol. We also tried Dawn of Defiance, another survival game with a unique Greek mythology theme.

6️⃣ Mini Motorways – A cozy and strategic game where you build road networks to keep traffic moving. It’s simple, fun, and perfect for quick gaming sessions. It’s one of my go-to games when I want to unwind without committing too much time. (I watch Lirik on Twitch a lot so I discovered this game from one of his Sub Sundays)

7️⃣ Valiant Hearts – A heartfelt, story-driven game inspired by true WWI events. Its charming art style and emotional narrative make it incredibly memorable. If you liked This War of Mine (played this on Xbox), this game will hit you in all the right emotional spots.

VR Game: (gotta discover more) 1️⃣ Beat Saber – This VR rhythm game is so much fun! It’s an excellent mix of music, movement, and satisfaction. Plus, it’s a sneaky way to burn calories while enjoying yourself. (Playing this on Meta Quest)

Recent additions: 1️⃣ Deadlock – This MOBA shooter is so addicting! I’ve already spent 300+ hours playing / learning its mechanics and sweating through matches. It’s challenging but kinda rewarding, and I highly recommend it if you love competitive games. Let me know if you need an invite to try it! (Abrams main ;p)

2️⃣ Marvel Rivals – Fast-paced, action-packed matches featuring Marvel heroes! It’s been compared to Overwatch, and I can see why. I’m still learning the heroes, but so far, I’m loving Hulk, Black Panther, Jeff the Land Shark, and Doctor Strange. Perfect for quick, satisfying games. (Idk why but I see ppl hating on this game, why?)

3️⃣ Path of Exile 2 – Even in early access, this game is phenomenal. The art, immersion, and gameplay are leagues ahead of Diablo IV (which I loved during its beta and release but had to move on from as it became less satisfying). It’s clear the devs poured their heart into this, and it’s a must-play for A-RPG fans. (Ranger lvl 30+ atm)

TL;DR: I started PC gaming this year and I’ve loved it! From survival games to roguelikes and competitive shooters, these are some of my favorites. Glad that my partner has introduced the world of gaming to me! <3
