Hi, I started reading some comments on this subreddit that 70% of cryptocurrency investors lose money. I investigated the source of this figure, and the closest I can find is this article: https://plasbit.com/crypto-basic/why-people-lose-money-on-crypto
70% is cited 3 times in that article, but the most relevant quote from that article is this line:
Markets are irrational, and people are the driving force behind the prices’ movements. If the majority of people act in the same way, and the majority of people (over 70%) lose money on crypto, you can easily understand that “doing what others do” is not a convenient choice.
I looked for references in this article to find where this 70% figure came from for cryptocurrency investors, but no references were listed. I also searched on Google for this 70% figure but I can’t find any study that hows 70% of cryptocurrency investors lose money.
Does anybody know where this 70% figure for cryptocurrency investor comes from? I would love to know the source (hopefully the source is not this article because that article doesn’t show where they got the 70% figure from). Thank you.
