Fabrizio De André was a legendary italian songwriter, born in Genova, Italy, in February 18th, 1940.

He started his career in 1961 with Nuvole Barocche, and would proceed to release 13 album in his 40 year career. Collaborating with other important people, such as Ivano Fossati for 1996 Anime Salve, Massimo Bubola for 1980 L’indiano and Francesco De Gregori for Volume 8. Fabrizio De André rearranged a lot of songs into italian, with some prime examples being Giovanna D’Arco and Via Della Povertà. His album Non Al Denaro, Non All’Amore, Né Al Cielo was entirely inspired from The Anthalogy Of Spoon River by Edgar Lee Master. Fabrizio De André was legendary, in his songs he talked about emarginated people in society, giving voice to people without one. Cancer got him in January 11th, 1999, at only 59 years old. We are near to his 26th death anniversary and his 85th birthday. Rest in peace, Faber

P.S. Faber was the nickname for Fabrizio De André, given to him by his friend Paolo Villaggio, due to Fabrizio’s obsession with the Faber Castell pencils.
