I’ve actually have a Proxmox server with a Ryzen 3900X (24 CPU) and 128GB, and I have about 13 VMs with about a total of 48 CPUs assigned. Obviously not running at 100% everytime, but with a lot of dockers and several Streaming servers running sooner than later it could be a nightmare. Thinking about upgrade the server I’m searching for new hardware in ebay or refurbished providers, and I don’t know if a new server with one EPYC 7532 (256 GB RAM minimum) would be a great upgrade for another 4-5 years, or I would be thinking in other powerful hardware like 2 EPYC. Obviously more cpu is more consumption, but it could be affordable if it is not to much. The other reason to upgrade is add slimsas and more NVME to the environment, but it could be worth it, or I won’t get to much enough performance? What do you think? Thanks in advance for your advices.
