I just got an HDD for Christmas, which is a 10TB Seagate one for servers, this specifically: https://amzn.eu/d/gim09rb

Now I connected it to my PSU and mainboard and it’s making this very unusual sound. I’ve already asked somewhere else where a guy said it might be indicating it’s dying, but I don’t see how that makes sense considering that I just got it. Everything I did afterwards was format it to ext4. There are no reads or writes to the HDD and it will still make that noise, no matter what’s happening.

Does anyone know what may be causing this and how I could fix it. I’m thinking it may be because I used the power cable that’s also used by two of my fans, because I was too lazy to connect a new one to my PSU, but I’m not sure.

Here’s a video of what it sounds like: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/bi09f3enwkbr8u25uct7e/Video-24.12.24-21-37-25.mov?rlkey=rp7stcey78iw43gwq77gayj23&st=ww8163sq&dl=0
