I ran some new Ethernet cable from my frontier fiber ONT to my edge router x and now my frontier connection isn’t working. I changed the cables back to the original cable that was previously working and I still cannot connect to the internet. Prior to changing cables I was getting close to my 1gb up and down speeds. Now the only way I am able to connect is if I plug my desk top directly into the ONT. with the desk top directly connected to the ONT I get a relatively slow 70-80mbps with lots of >200 ms ping. The port on my edge router x gives a slow green blink for the cable to my ONT while all the others in use are fast green blinks. I am still able to access everything on my home network and stream locally but I have no internet access from any device. Can anyone offer any advice on troubleshooting steps? I have taken the steps below so far. I will probably go find another router tomorrow to test with. I have power cycled the ONT and my router/ switch with the power switch and at the wall outlet. I have also tried connecting my pc to my router to remove the switch as an issue with no success. I have swapped the ONT to router cable 3 times. After this I called frontier and they say the problem is my equipment. I told them the problem started after I unplugged the Ethernet cable from my ONT and they told my doing so has damaged the ONT and it’s my fault. The tech stated home owners are not authorized to disconnect the Ethernet cable from the ONT. is any of that even true?
My network structure is below: Frontier ONT- edgerouter x- tp link tlsg108 switch -to multiple computers and a ubiquity access point.
