I plead, those of you that have worked with DDR5 before, somewhere I assume I must be making a novice mistake. I have two systems with 2 9800x3d processors, ASUS x870e-e mobo, and F5-8000J3848H16GX2-TR5NS ram kit (DDR5 8000 38-48-48-128) (2 sticks) which is Hynix for certain. I have tried running 6000 1:1 mode and 7600 1:2 mode and neither one is even close to stable. I have tried swapping the cpu and ram kits back and forth and both fail to stabilize in all instances.

It doesn’t seem to matter how loose or tight of timings I set, or how much or little voltage I give the DIMMS or the SOC. At this point I’d be okay with just 6000 with reasonable timings which I was under the impression basically all of these processors could do. I’m disheartened that I’m just hitting a wall after spending all this money on putting the system under a custom loop, and building a dedicated 120mm ram cooling fan for these.

6000 MT/s

SOC: 1.27V

VDD: 1.37V

VDDQ: Auto

VDDP: 1.0V

I tried running Buildzoids “fallback” for 6000 and that posts but fails linpack instantly. I also tried running auto timings and they are SILLY loose, and I still can’t get it running. I know that the chip can run 2000 FCLK because when I turn the ram speed down to auto (which is like 4800 mt/s), it’s a stable system. I’ll post the timings with a Zentimings screenshot, these are all auto timings, but again, tried fallback buildzoid timings as well with the same result.

Does this motherboard just SUCK?

EDIT: Switched back to motherboard FACTORY DEFAULTS to play CS2 tonight, and I’m failing Linpack xtreme instantly. Is there a chance that this BIOS is F’d or that test just doesn’t work with x3d processor testing. WTF is going on… I did update the bios at some point when I was initially test benching a couple weeks ago and I was able to get at least some passes at 6000 before it would fail, but now stock is failing.
