This Has Been the Most Disappointing Bull Market

I’ve been in the crypto space for a while, and I have to say, this has been the most underwhelming bull market I’ve experienced. Sure, BTC is up, and we’re seeing some movement, but it’s nothing like the explosive gains we’ve seen in previous cycles.

Bitcoin has broken new highs in past bull markets, but this time, its growth feels subdued. It’s up, but not dramatically. For many investors, the expectation was that BTC would shatter previous records or at least climb higher at a faster pace by now. Instead, the momentum feels sluggish.

And then there are the altcoins. Historically, altcoins have been where the real action happens during bull markets. In past cycles, we saw massive 10x or even 100x gains in some alts as they rode the coattails of Bitcoin’s success. This time, the majority of alts seem stagnant. Gains, if there are any, have been small and sporadic. Many projects that thrived in the last bull market are still down significantly from their all-time highs. It’s almost as if this cycle forgot to include alt season.

I’m not sure if it’s due to regulatory uncertainty, the evolving macroeconomic environment, or simply a lack of excitement in the market, but something feels off. Even the hype cycles for new projects and narratives (e.g., AI, DeFi 2.0) seem muted compared to the frenzied speculation of previous years.

Is this just a slow start, or are we in a fundamentally different kind of cycle this time? Are others feeling the same way, or is it just me? I’d love to hear your thoughts—are you optimistic about the months ahead, or are we stuck in a lukewarm market for the foreseeable future?
