What number would be enough for you to be able to stop chasing large gains and just live off the money you’ve made?

For me that would be either just over US$ 1 million in cash or whatever it takes to generate a passive monthly income of $2900.00

I could actually do it for half that and still be comfortable, but I figure having twice what I need would be nice.

With that much I could easily leave money for my nephews when I die (Not that they will need it).

Of course the answer depends on where you live, whether you have a family, how old you are and a lot of other factors. But it seems a lot of people have insanely high hopes that most will never come close to reaching.
