I absolutely love the ending, it’s in my top 10 favorite movie endings, the way Ed Tom Bell speaks about the dreams he had about his father is so touching, especially the line “and I knew that whenever I got there he’d be there” he doesn’t understand the violence in the world and he dreams about his father and then he wakes up, it is so touching and loving, but at the same time, it’s so depressing, cold, nihilistic, it’s perfect, it’s brilliantly acted by Tommy Lee Jones and it gets me everytime, a true masterpiece
