This is on a relatively fresh install of 24.04 LTS and using Comcast Xfinity at home. I changed the apt servers from the main US servers to my local university mirror via the Software and Updates applet like a week ago. Everything was normal at first, but now whenever I do an apt update, download speeds are less than 500 kB/s. If I update via Synaptic, download speeds are normal ie. ~10 MB/s. I even changed the servers back to the default main US servers and the download speeds are still below 500kB/s, sometimes as low as 50 kB/s. For the life of me, I can’t figure this out. Does anyone know what the heck I did to wreck my server download speeds?
