In summary:
Since 2019, I’ve completely disengaged with the 3D printing community.
I have watched about 0 minutes of YouTube content, shopped for absolutely no printer-related items with the exception of filament, and have reduced my printer usage to a generous estimate of once every 7-8 months. My once “perfectly” upgraded Ender 3 Pro - complete with quiet servos, ruby-tipped nozzle, and a textured glass bed - has decayed to a saddening crawl, struggling to even keep a consistent nozzle temperature.
I return to the internet only to discover that the 3D printing landscape of 2019 is utterly irrelevant and my printer is obsolete (which is honestly a good thing considering my hatred of Bowden tubes and manual leveling)
- What happened?
- Why?
- Who are these strange new companies?
- What did I miss?
- And is there any hope for my poor little printer?
tl;dr haven’t touched new 3d printer stuff in 5 years, what’s the new meta?
