I (18F) was in my room, my mam knocks on the door and asks for the hairdryer. I get it, open the door and give it to her.

Once I open the door my dad starts talking to me, and while we’re speaking my mam goes into my room and starts rooting through my drawer. I turn around and notice her then I immediately start giving out to her for going through my stuff. She says that she was looking for some nude coloured tights in my drawer, I tell her that I don’t have any that aren’t ripped and that I would have preferred if she had just asked instead of just looking through my stuff.

Then she says that bc I was talking to my dad that she didn’t want to interrupt our conversation. I think that this is a dumb reason bc it’s not like we were talking about anything important. I was about to point this out to her but before I could she started asking if I was upset because I was hiding stuff in my drawer that I didn’t want her seeing. I said no bc I don’t have anything in that drawer except for socks, underwear, tights, bras etc. but what if I did? I would’ve more annoyed than I already am. I do have condoms and a vibrator in my room, just not there, but I’m 18 so I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t or why my mother should just be able to look through my stuff and find them yknow?

My dad overheard the conversation and all he had to say was that he and my mam own the house so they can do whatever they want (an argument that he uses all the time) and that I should “suck it up”. I start giving out to them and my dad calls me ungrateful (for some reason like I literally have no idea why??). Anyway I don’t really see what I did wrong or why they’re both really annoyed about it, aita?
