Hi guys, just wanted to get your input. The objective of the NAS is for my devices (ios and android) to backup media to my personal NAS. This is to avoid monthly cloud storage subscription.
I am thinking a getting a single bay NAS, and for extra safety, the data would replicate to another NAS in a different site.
I don’t need big storage I think 4TB will be more than enough.
First question is do you guys have a suggestion for a single bay NAS that has an app on iOS and Android? I checked ugreen doesn’t have a single bay NAS… Not sure if I should go Synology? Would that be overkill for my objective? I dont plan on making a plex server or doing anything else.
DiY has also crossed my mind but the power consumption is too much for my use case… I don’t want to consume power as I will only use the NAS for backing up media from phones.
2nd question - any free software that would do scheduled replications of the NAS? Since this is offsite replication what is the the easiest and most straight forward approach?
Thanks.
