Yeah, Russia’s nukes are the official reason for de-escalation and appeasement in the Ukraine war, there’s been rumors in the mill for years about Russia and/or the Soviet Union being in possession of recovered alien spacecraft and reverse engineering. If Putin is overthrown then that creates a choatic power vacuum within the Russian government, and the prospect of advanced alien technology falling into the wrong hands amidst the chaos of an overthrown government would create a lot of obvious problems.
