I’m currently using MullvadVPN with NextDNS based on yokoffing’s config suggestions through WireGuard, and I was wondering what people’s practices are for using MullvadVPN.

Do you switch between tunnels from time to time, or stick to one tunnel and keep it on-demand? Do you use custom DNS, or Mullvad’s built in DNS? Do you use WireGuard, or the native app? And why do you use a VPN/what are your goals?

I used to just use the native app, but I wanted to use NextDNS with Mullvad so I started using WireGuard. I have exactly one (1) tunnel that I keep on-demand. I’ve also just been sticking to one account the whole time, but I saw a comment on how you should be switching account numbers regularly?

EDIT: Adding some information on my goals for using Mullvad.

I’m not new to using VPNs, but I’m definitely knew to actually knowing anything about them. I don’t want my data being sold and want to limit how much my ISP can see of my internet use. I don’t think my internet is being monitored by my parents anymore, but I’m not 100% sure on that, so that’s also a minor concern.

Overall, my goals are pretty surface-level in terms of privacy concerns, and I’m not looking to completely overhaul how I use the internet. The more secure I can be while still it still being somewhat convenient/not too much of a hassle after initial setup, the better.
