my specs: 4070 ti / 13600

After playing the monster hunter wilds demo i was pretty unhappy with the lack of optimization. with frame gen, dlss quality, and max of ultra-high graphics the game was blurry artifacting and only getting <100 fps. was considering upgrading to the 5080 when it comes out and get an oled 4k monitor. ultimately decided it ran and looked good enough, till i woke up at 5 am to see my monitor arms had given up and my 1440p ultrawide on the floor.

ended up ordering a new msi 321urx (240 hz 32in 4k oled) after seeing how cheap it was (relative to the last time i checked out oleds). anywho im quite worried for how my 4070 ti will perform with 4k, especially with new games (mainly mh wilds and kingdome come deliverance 2).

will i have to use dlss ultra performance? does dlss ultra performance look better on 4k than 1440p? (i found dlss to look kinda bad when not set to quality with 1440p). does 4k with dlss performance look as good as 1440 with dlss quality? should i just start budgeting for a 5080? get a 4090 when prices drop next year?
