As the title says - I am looking for any tips for getting a better handle on programming concepts.

I am doing a cyber security degree at university and have always struggled with the programming subjects. It’s not the path (pen testing ect) I intend to follow in cyber so it’s not a major concern for me.

As I have been told it’s important to break a problem down, truly understand what you’re trying to achieve before jumping in. That is something that I struggle to do and I find myself always just jumping in and getting super frustrated fast. Syntax is a bitch.

I am currently doing analytics programming this semester which is learning R. I find it so early to lose confidence and spiral - I find programming overwhelming but I need to pass this bullshit to finish my degree.

And yes I am aware practice is key….

What have ya got for me reddit
