Hi everyone,
I am looking for some tips from people who have visited the Amazon Rainforest. I live in the UK and I have always had a love for the rainforest, and I’d love the opportunity to visit someday. I am thinking about beginning to plan a trip for sometime in the next few years. However, I have really bad emetophobia (fear of vomit/vomiting) that I hope would be more under control by then but still, I have questions.
Obviously all of the trips seem to have some kind of speedboat or canoe through the river whether it be to get to lodges or for excursions - is it common to get seasick on these? Also, food/drink - is it common to get food or water poisoning there?
I would also love to hear about how you got there, what company you went with, if you have any recommendations, etc.! I haven’t looked into it too much yet but I want to start saving and it would be great to know what options are out there. I would like to go as ethically as possible!
I’m a 24 year old female and would likely be going with my partner! Thank you.
