First up, ‘Snapdragon 8 Elite’ is only the tentative name. We initially thought it would be called ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’, but it seems Qualcomm decided to change the name. There’s a bunch of them floating around, such as ‘Snapdragon 8 Ultra’ and ‘Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition’, but ‘Snapdragon 8 Elite’ sounds like the most likely one to me.
We won’t know until October 21st, which is when the Snapdragon Summit 2024 begins. Till then… we have rumours to dicuss!
[8Gen4 The Truth] Don’t believe all the slander against 8Gen4, it is confirme d that 8Gen4 will only perform better than D9400. It is also more energy efficient
The ‘slander’ being referred to here is probably this rumour:

Based on the measured data, 8G4 takes the crown in CPU, the efficiency is really outrageous; D9400 beats 8G4 in GPU, the difference in efficiency is not huge, about 10%. Gaming efficiency should be very close. This generation of Android can be said to be a huge success
“This generation of Android can be said to be a huge success”- Except for Google Pixel and their Tensors, I guess. ROFL.
The negotiations between Samsung and MediaTek, which initially aimed to include the Dimensity chip in the Galaxy S25, have shifted to placing the Dimensity chip in the S25 FE instead. The S25 will exclusively use Snapdragon chips.
All Snapdragon for S25 series? If Snapdragon 8 Elite isn’t a flaming mess, then S25 series may be as good as the S23 series was (which was also all Snapdragon).
