Growing up in the 90s - I don’t necessarily remember Queen as “cool” at the time… obviously- everyone heard of Bohemian Rhapsody and their big hits but I always knew them for Freddie Mercury dying of AIDS and they were the butt of jokes among school kids.

So my sense is that they got a huge boost in popularity since the Hollywood movie came out and the “Classic Rock” radio stations play they music much more now then they did 10-20-30 years ago
