Like many others my upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04 failed and will not boot, I plan on going back to 22.04 or doing a fresh install of 24.04 later…but now I need some files off my drive (just pictures), so I have to be careful how I approach this.

I want to try and copy the files before I try to “repair” the OS, so I need a bootable usb drive that can read the OS drive. I also need to know if a reinstall is possible without losing non-OS files?

I don’t mind starting over , but I want to save my pictures.
