I’ve had a pair of Sennheiser headphones for some time. I’ve been nostalgic for 90s Pop lately and one auto play led to another and one of the songs that started was Cry me a river by Justin Timberlake. I used to like this song when it circulated on music TV in early 2000s, so I let it play. On bad TV audio the beat is absolutely overpowered by Justin’s voice and is really hard to tell what is going on, but now, on good headphones…

I found out that the beat is actually a mix of this really bad beatbox and the occasional random words sprinkled in. I cringed so hard, I think, I have to see a doctor. It’s horrible. This song is forever ruined for me now. It wasn’t my favorite or something, nowhere near it, but I enjoyed it.

You always hear stories about how you discover new sounds in songs when you listen to them on high quality headphones and how that enhances the experience. I’ve been there myself numerous times. But this was the first time a song has been ruined for me because of high quality audio. I’m interested if someone has had similar occurrence.
