I was listening to PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake earlier and I was trying to remember how it was received at the time. Turns out it won the Mercury Prize, and was Harvey’s fourth nomination. And then I was curious as to who-else has won or been a finalist for the award and it’s WILD. Living in a nation where our ‘premier’ music awards event is basically a chance to throw laurels at Taylor Swift every year it’s really fascinating to see all the different artists who’ve won or been nominated for the Mercury Prize.
