I edit YouTube videos for someone on the other side of the country to me, so we have always struggled to get footage across from his PC to mine. Recently, I have bought myself a better PC to run my homelab on, rather than my old Pi4b. So, I figured that now would be the perfect time to finally figure out how to get large video files across.

Currently, I have Pingvin Share set up as a way to do this - although it isn’t great as he has to upload the file to the server then I have to download it to my PC. What I really want to be able to do, is for him to upload the video files to a USB dongle attached to my server PC, which I can then take out and put in to my PC to transfer the files across easily.

What is the recommended way to go about doing this? Bear in mind, security is quite an important part of this; I would want some sort of 2FA set up, or something of a similar security level, so the uploading of files is restricted and so that some random person on the internet isn’t able to upload files.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

(if it helps, my server PC is a dell optiplex 3050 micro, with 12GB RAM installed (yeah ik its cursed but it is how it is)
