Hey everyone! I want to use a small UPS with my PowerConnect 2824, Like this one:

Portable UPS

The Powerconnect’s PCB only get 12V from the internal power supply? If so, I can remove the internal power supply, install a Jack DC P4 to receive a 12V DC connection from the outside, and use those portable UPS?

The primary objective is to avoid installing a 600VA UPS; since the PowerConnect 2824 is located inside my roof, I need a thin item.

The only device not protected by a UPS is the PowerConnect 2824. I have a portable UPS connected to each of my two Bananapi BPI-R3s and another to my Bananapi M5, both of which are operating without issues

I chose the portable UPS that uses 18650 Li-ion batteries because it’s easier and cheaper to replace the batteries in this model. I can just open the cover and change the batteries.

Please let me know if this modification is the best one. I remember that some 3com switches used to have a 48V DC port on the back that could be used when the AC power went out. But I don’t have 48V DC; I only have 5/9/12V 3A MAX.
