I have a neurodegenerative disease that has wiped out my memory of my dad. I only remember what he looks like based on a memorial card my mom has. I have no idea what he sounded like and maybe have a few minutes worth of memories from the 24 years he was here. He read to me when I was younger but the only thing I remember is how wonderful the feeling of being read to was. So people, record yourself so your kids will be able to listen to your voice and experience that feeling again after you’ve passed. Not having that captured memory is one of those regrets you only realize after any chance to fix it has passed.
