With any VPN provider, an occasional issue is being blocked from accessing some websites. But why is it these websites always seem to hide the fact that they are doing it?

Reddit for example will often give a message saying your network is blocked, but then allow you the option to login. But if you then try to login, it will sometimes just keep failing to login for no apparent reason.

My bank does a similar thing, as does one of the crypto sites I use. They just give various different errors, making it seem like you’re using the wrong credentials, or that the website is broken. When in reality it is just blocking the VPN connection.

Is there some reason they do this? Or do they just have a buggy filter in place?
