Before I moved to a new apartment, I used WireGuard for remotely accessing my Debian server via SSH and my Windows server via RDP.
Now I thought: Why don’t I just port forward them to the internet and get rid off the VPN thingy? I don’t worry about SSH, but when it comes to RDP, the internet seems to strongly discourage leaving it exposed to the internet.
I only have a single local user, with a 64 character password. My server regularly reboots & install updates and my router is also keeping itself up to date.
What could go wrong here except for bots hammering my system or getting hit by an extremely unlucky zero day exploit?
