They make ant traps that see the insect enter and collect material for the hive. This material is poisoned and kills the hive from within.

These poisons change every so often to keep up with new resistances implemented in the species by the last poisons. So to say, don’t buy some old cheap stuff, get something brand new from a home improvement store.

Set the trap near your infection site, bonus points if you know where the ants are coming in from, otherwise by your pc should suffice. Ensure your cats can’t get it, and that your dogs can’t get it, especially the latter will find the flavor in the ant trap irresistible. This is a bad slow death for them so heed that warning.

Should clear the majority of ants in about a week, maybe two.
