I am pursuing cybersecurity education and need some advice on the setup and creation of my home lab.

Constraints:

I have a desktop and laptop but no internet connectivity within my residence.

Small budget($500 or less)

What I’m looking for:

I found two examples of home lab creation using Raspberry Pis in a stack having an external I/O device interface and using Virtual Machines using Virtual Box. I need an internet connection to run the home lab and set up the network. I want to use the home lab to practice network configuration, IAM, and cybersecurity tools like Wireshark and TCPdump. I also planned to practice using Kali Linux and pen testing. Overall, I am looking for a way to apply the information I learn in an environment that will transform into practical experience. I would appreciate any resources and information you can share. Also, any form of pathway that would help me structure my learning would be greatly appreciated
